Vintage finds...

There is probably quite a bit of stuff that I have now organised for the big day but forgotten to tell you about so I’ve had a little look through my colossal “To Do” list and see what I have checked off.

- Book videographer
- Order of Service designed
- Bridesmaid dresses ordered
- Save the Dates printed and sent
- Honeymoon flights and hotel booked

And of course not only are they added to the “Done” list they are struck off the “To Do” list. Double listing. Love it. It’s amazing how this list has changed my outlook on planning for our wedding. I feel so much more in control now that I have it all written down.

(Note to self: Actually you’ve something more to add to the “To Do” list – Update wedding planning scrapbook.)

The cutest shop opened closeby to where we live, the first of its kind in these parts – It’s Vintage Darling. I went along last week and scooped up this gorgeous china tea set and gold photo frame.
I’ll be using both in the wedding décor in some way. I’m thinking maybe teacup centrepieces with strings of pearls tumbling out of them.

The frame I want to use as a sign for our guest book. I was giving this some thought the other day and think I have decided that rather than a traditional guestbook we may have 4x6 sheets of card, printed similar to our other stationery, where guests can write us a message/wish and then insert them into a pretty photo album and we’ll add photos from the day at a later stage. Of course the idea of wedding wish trees etc are very appealing but more DIY than I can manage at the minute. My mum is starting to worry about all the work I am giving myself but I think it will be worth it in the end. That’s what it’s all about after all – making it personal to us.

In the meantime the frame has pride of place in my dining room with my favourite quote from Mary Jean Iron in:

"Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart. Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so. One day I shall dig my nails into the earth, or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky and want, more than all the world, your return."

Still loving those normal days.

Oooh love the tea set it's gorgeous! My Mam is giving me her wedding china as a wedding present. It's really delicate with deep pink roses on it,edged in gilt. It's SO pretty and vintage. It's really hard to find a proper 'tea-set' these days. Everything is either very functional or incredibly expensive.

Love the idea of the centrepieces, with the pearls.

The frame is beautiful too. I wish I had style like you! My wedding has no theme whatsoever it's just...here's our wedding!

I love china, and you're right you just can't get nice sets anymore because no-one uses them. I really wouldn't say I had style at all lol! I'm sure my guests would appreciate a wedding with no theme much more to be honest, I can imagine them being very confused about why on earth there would be pearls in teacups! When I mention some of my ideas to aunts they look at me like I've got 2 heads!
