One year from today...

One year from today I will be becoming Mrs Marshall. Exciting isn't it?!

The sky is grey, threatening rain, so not the bright morning I was hoping for that would inspire me with confidence.

I booked my make-up artist this week, a local girl who was so sweet when I met her and I'm meeting with the florist, a friend of Mr M's, on Saturday. God help her - she let me know she would be bringing along photos of her past work so I could get ideas but little does she know I have practically a full folder of flower photos I want to show her. She'll not know what has hit her!
Looking over all the inspiring pictures I have kept since I got engaged, I noticed that at the start there isn't one photo of flowers and at that stage I would have said they weren't important to me at all, but recently nearly every one I've kept is of floral centrepieces and bouquets. Funny.
At the beginning I mostly collected screenshots of colour palettes, but now I'm focusing on a specific colour scheme there is definitely a recurring theme in what I collect. Here's hoping my bridesmaids suit the colours I have in mind!

I've got a contact for my card and envelopes for the stationery I'm doing myself so I'm making some progress with the small stuff and it feels good. Still no dress shopping yet though! I'm dreading it.

We're going to see a band play at our venue on Friday night and hopefully we'll be happy with what we see to move that forward.

I have such trouble making decisions and then when they are finally made, I reconsider and reconsider them until I drive myself mental instead of letting go and moving on to the next thing. That's the hardest part of wedding planning for lil' over-thinker me!

My new favourite blog...

Today I discovered what is officially my new favourite blog... THXTHXTHX, where Leah Dieterich writes thank you notes to everything. These are some of my favourites.

Dear Benign Objects,

Thank you for introducing me to THXTHXTHX and brightening my day. I love when you do that.

Until next time, Angela

Say hello to my little friend...

I have a new friend, well more like a little baby for me. At last I got my hands on a Canon 450D! I've been very fussy about what I wanted and waited patiently until the right deal came along for me.
We (we being my camera and I) went out today at lunchtime for a dander around St Patrick's Church of Ireland Cathedral in Armagh for some happy snapping. Of course I made the mistake of having my white balance settings wrong but thankfully it shoots in RAW so I was able to correct it later. Listen to me, like I know what I'm talking about!!
Here's just a few for your viewing pleasure. Next time, when I know all the settings a little better I'll venture inside. It's amazing in there but I was afraid of my flash going off and giving me away!

There's been another new member to our wider family since this month - Theodore The Hamster. This was my niece's 13th birthday present from her mum and I love him just as much as she does.

In other news, this month so far has seen sunny days spent in the garden and a day trip to Newcastle, Co. Down with Mr M.
Honey, my parents' dog is very suspicious of the camera and absolutely refuses to look at me when I have it out unless I say the word "sweeties" and then she wants to know me.

This day trip to Newcastle took place on "Easter Wednesday", the day we get married next year. What a pity I didn't realise it at the time - it would have felt all the more romantic!

Note to Angela: Easter is over...

Just a quick post for you today because I remembered I had this photo even though Easter is over and gone, being back to work and all. This is how many Easter eggs my sister and I got every year from family and neighbours. Mum says we would still have chocolate eggs left to eat in the summertime but judging by the rate I am able to consume chocolate now I don't know how true this is!

This year I got one egg - from my mum, who had one for Mr M too. He woke up on Easter Sunday and promptly announced that he had forgotten to get me an egg. I made him feel guilty for a few minutes before I confessed that I hadn't bought him one either. He was further disgusted later in the day when he realised his mum had bought him an egg and hadn't got one for me. I think she decided it was the last thing I needed, her being obsessed with weight and me obviously needing to lose half of mine before the big day.

I guess as this is supposed to be a wedding blog it might be interesting to point out that in 2011 we get married on the Wednesday after Easter, so even though the date will be totally different, going by its relation to Easter means that this time next year I will be a married woman!
